First, the honest part: ALPHA OS is in development. There is nothing to download yet — and we will not pretend otherwise. No fake buttons, no vapour. We are building it in the open, in careful stages, and it ships when it is tested and proven — not before. Coming 2027.
ALPHA OS is a complete operating system for your computer, built the 777 way: your machine answers to you — not to an account you rent, not to advertisers, not to anyone collecting pieces of your life. It stands on a hardened Linux base (Fedora Atomic), wears the Enclave face, and is being built to run the software you already own.
And like everything this house gives the world, it will be FREE FOREVER — no price, no ads, no trials, no premium tier. No accounts. No telemetry. It never phones home about you.
Plain words, the way we would want them told to us.
ALPHA OS stands on Fedora Atomic — a Linux base where the whole system is one sealed, signed image instead of a pile of loose parts. Our own hardening is layered on top, module by module, each one tested on its own before it joins the whole.
Updates arrive as whole system images. If an update ever proves unhealthy, the machine sets it aside and boots the last version that worked — automatically. A bad update should never cost you your computer.
A reset that returns the machine to a clean, fresh ALPHA OS — for a fresh start, a hand-me-down, or a bad day. It speaks in plain words before it touches anything, and you export your own files first. Always. Nothing of yours is ever quietly deleted.
Planned compatibility rooms, each sealed in its own compartment: many Windows apps through a Wine/Proton-class layer, and Android apps through a Waydroid-class layer. Honest words: compatibility is app by app — we will always say “many,” never “all.”
No accounts. No telemetry. No backdoors, no silent phone-home. The smallest attack surface we can build, and nothing exposed that does not need to be. Your computer’s life is your own.
We will never promise you a computer nobody could ever break into — nobody honest can. What we promise instead is proof: every build tested in the lab first, our methods and results published in the open, and a standing watch on newly disclosed vulnerabilities. All true, or it does not get our name.
The name and the mark. The name ALPHA was Kim’s pick — the same Kim who named 777 Software itself. The mark is a total eclipse: a black disc crowned in fire, the light still breaking around the edges. First light, and the dark never wins.
The road ahead. As ALPHA OS grows, its service packs will carry the names that stood beside ALPHA in the naming: QUANTUM, ARCHANGEL, and ECLIPSE. Nothing from the hunt is wasted.
When it ships, ALPHA OS will be FREE FOREVER — for everyone, everywhere, like everything this house gives away.
