This is neighbors helping neighbors. That is all it has ever been, and there is no shame in it.
⚠ STAY SAFE: Real free help NEVER asks for your bank details, gift cards, or a “processing fee.” If a “free” offer asks for any of those, it is a thief. Close it and walk away.
Good food for about a third of the price: Too Good To Go — a free app where shops sell the day’s unsold food in “Surprise Bags.”
Freecycle.org — neighbors give away furniture, clothes, and more. Everything is free. Always.
Buy Nothing Project — local gift groups. Ask for what you need. Give what you can.
Your public library card — maybe the most powerful free card in America. Free books, movies, streaming, computers, job help, and classes. If you do not have one, walk in and ask. It costs nothing.
Cheaper phone and internet: the FCC Lifeline program takes up to $9.25 off your monthly bill if you qualify.
Museums for free or a few dollars: show an EBT card at 1,600+ museums through Museums for All.
Free tax help: IRS VITA volunteers prepare basic tax returns free if you qualify — 800-906-9887 or irs.gov.
Real coupons live on the maker’s own website or app, and in the store’s own app. Never pay a site that promises “free groceries” for a fee — read the warning above.
